School Visits

Karen is available to come to your school, library or conference, virtually or in person. Presentations can be tailored to your audience.

Ask questions, discuss a particular book, or learn about what it’s like to write books for a living!

How do you write a novel?

In this presentation, Karen talks about how she takes an idea and turns it into a book.

From the first “what if?” to the finished product, how can you get your ideas onto the page and what does that process look like?

Is it possible to make a living as an author? What other ways can you turn your love for reading into a career? What’s it like to be a full-time writer? And can YOU be one, too?

Let’s Talk About ________!

If you’d like to talk about a specific title, Karen requests that you please give students the opportunity to read the book prior to her presentation. This can lead to really fun, interesting, and informative discussions!

She will walk you through how she came up with the idea for the particular novel your class has been reading, the inspiration for the characters and events, what the process of writing it was like, and why things happened the way they did.

Students can also get answers to all their questions and share their thoughts.

Full Day - Multi Session

Maximum of three sessions per day.

Karen prefers to present to smaller groups (max 50 students) so that your students have a chance to ask questions and get answers, but group sizes are negotiable.

Please book sessions via the contact page on this website.
